Geraldine Roman pays respect to this country’s veterans
Bataan first district representative Geraldine Roman sends her highest respect to Philippine veterans.
As the Chairperson of the Committee on Veteran Affairs and Welfare, she had continued to champion for their rights and privileges after resignment. During the 17th Congress, she was the principal author of Republic Act No. 11164 or “An Act Increasing the Monthly Age Old Pension of Veterans,” which, in figures, meant that senior war veterans would receive a pension of 20,000 pesos, a major increase from the previously 5,000-peso worth pension.
Because of her significant efforts, the congresswoman was invited as a special guest to the 47th founding anniversary of the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office. It was recently held at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
