Garcia rallies Bataan folk: ‘Huwag tayong susuko’
“Huwag tayong susuko.”
That was the Independence Day message of Bataan Governor Albert Garcia as he rallied residents of the province to continue the fight against Covid-19.
“Naniniwala akong nasa huling yugto na ang labang ito at ang bakuna kontra coronavirus disease 2019 ang huling linya ng depensang makapagbibigay ng lubos na kalayaan sa atin laban sa mapaminsalang galamay ng virus,” he said.
“Ang katapangang ipinakita ng mga bayaning Pilipinong lumaban sa pagmamalupit ng mga dayuhan noong 1898 ay nanaig kaya’t umasa tayong kaya rin nating mapagtagumpayan ang hamon ng Covid-19 ngayon,” the governor said.
“Lubhang makapangyarihan ang pagkakaisa dahil kaakibat nito ang pag-asa,” Garcia said.
He said the provincial government continues its efforts to combat the virus.
Bataan has so far received from the Department of Health 45,530 single dose vials of Coronavac, 2,420 multi-dose (10 – 12) vials of AstraZeneca and 300 single dose ampules of Gamaleya Sputnik V.
“Kaagad nating ipinamamahagi ang mga bakuna sa mga vaccination centers upang mabilis din tayong padalhan ulit bilang replenishment mula sa DOH,” Garcia said.
Bataan has logged 9,430 confirmed Covid- 19 cases with 1,344 active ones after registering 67 new cases. The province also recorded two new deaths bringing the total fatalities to 307 while the number of those who recovered reached 7,779 with the addition of 77 new recoveries.
