Five foreign nationals were apprehended by Immigration officials in Bulacan last week for working without the necessary permits, the bureau said Tuesday.
In a statement, the Bureau of Immigration said the foreigners include four Chinese and one Korean who were caught working at a bag and slipper’s strap manufacturing company without the proper visa.
The apprehension was made on Aug. 28 in Guiguinto municipality.
The Chinese were identified as Guanxi Zheng, Honghong Zhuang, Jianmin Wu, and Zhidan Gao, while the Korean national was identified as Hyun Seung Kim.
“There will be no let up in our campaign to flush out illegal aliens. We cannot allow these erring foreigners to make a mockery of our laws,” Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said in the statement.
Foreign nationals who work in the Philippines are required to obtain a working visa.
Bureau of Immigration Acting Intelligence Chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. said the apprehended foreigners have been detained at the bureau’s detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City, pending deportation proceedings.
