Duterte appoints former MNLF commander, losing Subic mayoral bet in SBMA
President Rodrigo Duterte has named two new directors in Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).
Duterte appointed Benasing Onayan Macarambon Jr. as representative of the business and investments sectors.
Macarambon is a former commander of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and former representative of Lanao del Sur.
Duterte also appointed Rolando Ednalino Ampunin as government representative in SBMA.
Ampunin is a member of Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban). He lost in the Subic mayoralty elections in 2016.
Their appointment papers were signed on Tuesday but were released to the media on Thursday.
