DTI opens One Town One Product hub at Subic Freeport

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has opened a One Town One Product (OTOP) Hub in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, officials said.

Located at the second floor of Ayala Malls Harbor Point, the OTOP hub is a retail one-stop shop that provides opportunity to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to promote and sell their products, according to DTI Assistant Regional Director Brigida Pili.

In a Philippine Information Agency report, she said this was one of the agency’s marketing strategies in helping MSMEs bounce back after the pandemic.

The OTOP Hub in Subic was the fifth in Central Luzon. Similar facilities were opened in Bulacan, Aurora, Tarlac and Pampanga.

It features mango-based products, bamboo-based products, bags, food, arts and crafts, and other products of Zambales MSMEs, according to the PIA report.

DTI Zambales Provincial Director Enrique Tacbad thanked all participating MSMEs and stakeholders for making the event a success.

“We are lucky in Zambales, we have the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority. We are lucky because we have a good tourism destination,” Tacbad said in the PIA report.
