DTI-Bataan holds marketing seminar for SMEs
The Department of Trade and Industry in Bataan recently held a roving academy seminar for small and medium enterprises in the province.
Around 50 participants from the business sector and cooperatives attended the seminar with their expectation to gain information about market demands, competitor products, internal and external sources about a target group of consumers and other information in a particular market.
Dennis Orlina, president of Asean Promotion and Development Association of the Philippines, served as the motivational speaker during the seminar held at the Plaza Hotel in Balanga City.
He thought attendees valuable marketing skills, like creating profiles for different customers according to their average age, income, education, and what they typically spend per visit in one store.
Nora Reclosado, DTI Bataan division chief, said that marketing intelligence is needed to improve the company’s market. She said gathering and analyzing it accurate and confident decision making in determining market opportunity, market penetration strategy and market development metrics.
She also stressed the importance of competitive information in the age of social media.
Business owners can use reports, articles, newsletters and other information to study their competitors, investment, organizational strategies, various features and technologies to determine the type of customers they have.
