DPWH speeds up construction of MacArthur-Luisita SCTEX bypass road
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Central Luzon has committed to finishing the new 5.77-kilometer bypass road that will connect MacArthur Highway and the Luisita SCTEX Access Road in Tarlac City.
In a statement, DPWH Regional Director Roseller Tolentino pledged to complete the construction of the four-lane bypass road ahead of schedule.
“In the face of all the confusion brought by the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting economic slump, let’s make our infrastructure program the great equalizer,” the official said.
The first phase of the project started in 2019, according to Tarlac first district Engineer Erelina Santos.
The official said the project would cut travel time to the Luisita SCTEX Access Road from 45 minutes to only 15 minutes.
