Politicians in Central Luzon with candidacy plans in 2019 can formalize their intentions on Oct. 1-5 of this year, the Department of Interior and Local Government Region III office said Sunday.

The agency issued the advisory about the period for the filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2019 national and local elections on its Facebook account, citing Commission on Elections Resolution No. 10420.

The said Resolution, which was promulgated on Friday, also pertains to the rules and regulations governing political conventions, and submission of nominees of groups or organizations participating under the party-list system of representation.

The period for the filing of certificates of candidacy is stated on Section 18 of the Resolution. It says that the time of filing is from 8 a.m. up to 5 p.m. of Oct. 1-5, 2018.

The country is set to elect a new set of senators, congressmen, governors and other provincial officials, and mayors and other city and municipal officials during the May 2019 elections.
