DILG assists Pampanga LGUs in devolution plan
Pampanga local government units (LGUs) are receiving assistance from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in drafting their respective Devolution Transition Plans (DTPs), according to a report in Sun Star Pampanga.
The DILG met with members of the Devolution Transition Committee and Technical Working Group of different cities and municipalities in the province over the weekend to train them on the development of DTPs.
According to DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, the DTP will guide LGUs in performing their tasks in line with the increase in the National Tax Allotment and implementation of devolved functions and services from various government agencies starting 2022, the report said.
“The department [DILG] will continue to watch over and support the LGUs including providing technical assistance to make the transition of local governments to full devolution a success,” Fabia was quoted as saying.
The official urged the LGUs to prioritize programs, projects and activities depending on the situation and needs of their locality.
