Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman said the public cannot use the presence of the members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in the entertainment and fashion industries to say there is no discrimination.

The politiko recently granted an interview with ANC’s Inside Congress.

“In fact, I heard some people are saying there’s no need for an anti-discrimination bill to defend the members of the LGBT community because the members of the LGBT community are tolerated in society. You have them in show business. You have them in the fashion industry and the movie industry. But that’s different,” said Roman.

“What is true is that there are cases of discrimination and this is what this bill seeks to address,” she added.
