For only P250, a customer can buy a pair of toy bears, where one goes to the customer and the other is left for donation to charity, thanks to the SM Bears of Joy campaign, an annual project of SM Cares, SM Supermalls, and Toy Kingdom.

This year’s chosen beneficiaries are the sons and daughters of delivery service riders such as OrderMo and Groover (for SM City Olongapo Central) and sons and daughters of SM agency personnel like service maintenance, janitorial and security guards (for SM City Olongapo Downtown).

Each year, more and more children are experiencing the joy of having a teddy bear.

“It’s a simple gesture yet it has a big impact in child’s development. Teddy bear is said to be the first best friend in childhood. It’s the first toy that teaches a child how to stay happy in every situation,” according to an SM press release.

This year’s collection features designs inspired by four of the most common interests and hobbies that many Filipinos had indulged in during the pandemic. They are Cookie the Baker Bear, Sunny the Plant Lover Bear, Cammy the Vlogger Bear, and Journey the Biker Bear.

“Through the kindness of shoppers, friends and employees the SM Bears of Joy campaign continues to give joy to underprivileged kids,” the release said.
