Daniel Fernando helps stranded family return to Samar
Governor Daniel Fernando helped members of a family, considered as locally-stranded individuals (LSIs), to return home to Barangay Cabaywa, San Sebastian, Samar.
The family of eight is scheduled to fly via Cebu Pacific on Sunday (June 28) courtesy of Fernando.
Fernando said on Friday that he is happy to help the family through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, led by Rowena Joson-Tiongson, who arranged all the necessary documents such as travel authority and medical clearance certification.
Aside from this, Fernando also provided the family members, who got stranded in the province due to the lockdown, with free accommodation and livelihood assistance.
“To ensure their health, each member of the family was tested for coronavirus disease and the results were all negative,” Fernando said.
The LSIs are very grateful to the governor, who gave them PHP5,000 pocket money on their way home. (PNA)
