Covid-19 deaths in Central Luzon now exceed 1K – DOH
The Department of Health (DOH) reported that the total number of coronavirus deaths in Central Luzon has soared past 1,000 as of January 22.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said deaths in Central Luzon provinces totaled 1,007 as of 8 a.m. on Friday.
The number of deaths represents 3.7 percent of the total 27,056 confirmed cases in Region 3.
The bulk, or about 87.3 percent of the cases, have recovered from the virus, according to DOH officials.
But active cases are still at nine percent, or about 2,413 cases.
Of the active cases, 49 patients showed severe symptoms, eight had moderate symptoms, and 1,482 showed mild symptoms.
Some 862 did not have any symptoms at all.
About 90 of the active cases were in Pampanga, 76 in Bulacan and 16 in Tarlac, the DOH said.
