Corpus creates task group to investigate priest murder in Nueva Ecija
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 has formed a special investigation Task Group “Nilo” to probe into the killing of Fr. Richmond Nilo, who was shot dead inside a chapel in Nueva Ecija when he was about to officiate a mass Sunday, June 11.
PRO3 Director Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus said the task group is headed by the deputy provincial director of Nueva Ecija Police Office.
“I have ordered my men to conduct thorough investigation for the possible identification and apprehension of suspects the soonest possible time,” he said as he strongly condemned the senseless killing of the priest.
He assured that “no stone will be left unturned” to immediately identify and arrest the perpetrators.
Corpus urged the public to come forward if they have any information that will help the police resolve the case.
The unidentified suspects killed Nilo, parish priest of Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija, at around 6:00 p.m. inside the chapel of Barangay Mayamot in the same municipality when he was about to celebrate the mass.
