Congresswoman Geraldine Roman pushes for a Hospitals Classification Act

Bataan first district representative Geraldine Roman continues her fight against the unclear classification of hospitals.
“We cannot tolerate a system that provides disparate and unequal services despite having the same category of hospitals,” the congresswoman reiterated when she continued to push in Congress the Hospitals Classification Act.
She gave an example in the person of Jonvic, a 25-year-old father of two and factory worker who, after a motorcycle accident, was rushed to a Level 3 hospital for revival. The hospital immediately rejected him because it did not have a life support system so Jonvic had to be taken to another Level 3 hospital but unfortunately, he was not able to make it alive.
So the question is why do these hospitals have the same classification but not the same facilities and services?
There is clearly a need for standardization. “This will save time and this will also save lives,” Roman said.
