Coast Guard brings relief goods to 700 families in Hagonoy
The Philippine Coast Guard continued its relief operations in Hagonoy, Bulacan, in six barangays flooded during the onslaught of Typhoon “Ulysses,” according to the Department of Transportation in Central Luzon.
Beginning dawn Sunday, Coast Guard units from Metro Manila and Central Luzon coordinated with local government units to bring aid to 700 families in Barangays Iba, Palapat, San Miguel, San Isidro, Mercado and Abulalas.
According to PCG Commandant George Ursabia Jr., the relief goods distributed to the families include the following:
100 packs of rice (10 kilos each)
10 sacks of rice
219 cases of bottled water
148 boxes of nature spring iced tea
100 food packs
“Ang aktibidad na ito ay bilang pagtalima sa kautusan ni Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade na mas palawakin pa ang relief efforts ng Coast Guard upang matulungan ang ating mga kababayang nakaranas ng hagupit ng bagyo,” the DOTr said.
