Classes in Bataan suspended for 2 weeks, says Garcia

Classes in public schools in all levels in Bataan province are suspended for two weeks from January 16-28 to prevent the spread of Covid-19, according to Bataan Governor Albert Garcia.
The governor issued the announcement Friday after assistant schools division superintendent Roland Fronda ordered the suspension classes in public schools.
Garcia said private schools could declare suspension in consultation with the parents associations and officials of the respective schools.
Under the memorandum, all classes regardless of modality, submission of academic requirements and conduct of other teaching-related activities, including the second quarter examination, are effectively postponed for two weeks.
“Dahil suspendido ang mga klase, suspendido din ang pagsusumite ng mga requirements, pagsusulit, pamamahagi ng mga Universal Serial Bus on the Go at Service Level Management, at iba pang aktibidad,” Garcia said.
The 60 percent skeleton workforce for non-teaching employees will be implemented while teachers are asked to stay home. The governor said the number of teachers, students and school employees showing symptoms of Covid–19 is increasing.
