Central Luzon’s top cop tells recruits: ‘Be instruments of change’
Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon, the director of the Central Luzon police, advised 231 new cops to become “instruments of change” as they took their oath on Friday.
“Do not waste the opportunities given to you and always remember that many were called to join but you are fortunate to be chosen,” De Leon was quoted as saying in a Punto Central Luzon report.
After the oathtaking, the police recruits will undergo one-year training at the Regional Training School in Magalang, Pampanga, according to the report.
Colonel Joyce Patrick Sangalang, chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division (RPRMD), presented the new recruits at the oath-taking ceremony.
De Leon said the 231 successful applicants will fill up the slots for the Patrolman Attrition Quota for CY 2021 to increase police manpower strength, improve the police-to-population ratio, and enhance the police visibility program and anti-insurgency operation of the Philippine National Police.
The PRO-Central Luzon director also told the new police recruits to strive hard to fulfill the goals of the PNP.
