Central Luzon’s Covid-19 cases top 310K, death toll at 6.2K
The number of Covid-19 cases in Central Luzon has reached more than 300,000 of which more than 27,000 remain active, according to figures from the Department of Health (DOH).
As of Friday, a total of 4,127 new cases were recorded in the entire region, bringing the total in the region to 310,263 since the start of the pandemic.
Some 277,041 have recovered from the virus.
Officials said the holiday surge was most marked in Bulacan with 14,483 active cases, Pampanga with 4,715 active cases, Nueva Ecija with 2,112 active cases and Bataan 2,275 active cases.
In Bulacan, some 14,930 cases were recorded in the last 14 days.
In contrast, there were 4,781 cases in Pampanga for the same period. Some 2,084 cases were also recorded in Nueva Ecija along with 2,084 cases in Tarlac in the last 14 days.
The death toll in the region now stands at 6,201 cases.
