Central Luzon police beef up anti-drug drive
Authorities arrested three drug suspects and seized P1.7 million worth of narcotics in a buy-bust operation in Cabanatuan City as part of efforts by Central Luzon police to wipe out illegal drugs in the region.
Col. Jaime Santos, director of the Nueva Ecija police, identified the suspects as Teresita Francisco, 49, jobless; Michael Correa, 38, a vendor; and Celedonia Caseria, 66, all from Barangay Camp Tinio in Cabanatuan.
The police said they confiscated 53 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 250.23 grams with an estimated street value of P1.7 million, and the P500 marked money.
In a statement on Saturday, Central Luzon police chief, Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, said the Region 3 police was intensifying its efforts against illegal drugs.
“The Philippine National Police Regional Office 3 is continuously conducting proactive operations to invigorate its efforts to wipe out all forms of illegal drugs and achieve its quest for a drug-free Central Luzon,” he said.
