Central Luzon kick-starts observance of National Disaster Resilience Month
Central Luzon officials kick-started this year’s observance of National Disaster Resilience Month with an online forum attended by various agencies and stakeholders.
According to Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Regional Information Officer Francesca Quizon, the “Regional Disaster Resilience Forum” held Thursday was attended by member agencies of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, local disaster risk reduction and management offices and other stakeholders.
The participants engaged in talk about the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System and Updated National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan by OCD.
The officials also shared some tips in producing “compelling” social media content in disseminating information about disaster resilience.
“For the closing ceremony, we will have a tree planting activity where we will invite a limited number of participants,” Quizon said.
“Although it will be in an open area, we also have to think about the safety of the attendees,” she said.
