The municipal government of Masantol has authorized cemeteries in the town to remain open on November 1 and 2 subject to the implementation of health and safety protocols.

According to a Sun Star Pampanga report, Masantol Mayor Danilo Guintu made the decision to open cemeteries from 6 a.m. is to 5 p.m. on All Saints’ Day and All Souls Day’ amid fears of turning into a superspreader event.

On Tuesday, the mayor issued Executive Order 029-2021 to guide residents on their safe visit to the cemeteries.

According to the report, the number of visitors will be limited to 30 percent of the capacity of the cemetery.

“Sa isang pamilya, i-limit na lang po natin sa tatlo o apat ang bibisita o kaya magsalitan nalang para hindi na tayo makadagdag doon sa nandoon na sa loob ng sementeryo,” Guintu said.

He added that individuals who are 60 years old and above, and 18 years old below are still not allowed to visit regardless of their vaccination status.
