Capas tourism office temporarily halts trek to Mt. Pinatubo
Authorities have temporarily suspended trekking to Pinatubo Crater Lake due to bad weather.
Capas Tourism Office in Tarlac said Sunday that the suspension was made because the trail to Pinatubo was heavily flooded and landslide may occur in the area.
There was flooding due to continuous monsoon rains brought by severe tropical storm “Domeng.”
“Please be reminded that Pinatubo trek operations are based on weather conditions and for your safety and security,” the local tourism office told the Pinatubo tour operators/organizers, travel agents and guests.
“Rest assured that as soon the weather permits, we will advise you of the lifting of the suspension,” it added.
