Capas mayor tests positive for Covid-19
Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan has tested positive for Covid-19, according to the Capas Information Office (CIO).
Officials announced the result of the mayor’s reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test on Tuesday.
Catacutan is believed to have contracted the virus from contact with Capas residents, according to the Municipal Health Office.
“With this, we sincerely ask the public to join us in our prayers for Mayor Catacutan’s healing and fast recovery in his isolation,” the CIO statement said.
The result prompted the temporary closure of the Office of the Mayor for disinfection. All staff members exposed to the official were also tested.
