Candaba Mayor Baylon of Pampanga thanks Vice Gov for aid
Candaba Mayor Danilo Baylon of Pampanga province expressed appreciation Friday for the assistance extended by Vice Governor Dennis Pineda to his constituents who were affected by typhoon Ompong.
According to the provincial information office, Pineda personally distributed more than 7,000 food packs to the affected families from 11 villages of Candaba.
“We are very happy and thankful for the quick response of Vice Governor Delta in times of need and calamity,” Baylon was quoted to have said.
“One thing that we admire (about) the vice governor is that, he is all smiles while giving the food assistance to the people… Saka, gusto niya kinakantahan. Tuwang tuna iyong mga kababayan natin,” Baylon added.
Candaba has been placed under State of Calamity due to the effects of Ompong, which hit the country last weekend.
A resolution of the municipal council declaring a state of calamity said that the town “was not spared from the wrath of typhoon Ompong which caused the swelling and overflowing of the Pampanga River and the Candaba Swamp, inundating majority of the thirty-three barangays.”
