“Bustosenyo ID card” to give perks to local residents
The local government of Bustos, Bulacan plans to distribute identification cards to residents of the municipality, as a way of speeding up their transaction with the government.
The proposed “Bustosenyo ID card” would be a unified card in which residents could avail of local services for employment, school and other legal matters, as well as benefits from the local government and other private sector groups in Bustos.
“Basically, the ID system covers 18 years old and above. It will be given free to residents. The ID card is important to us. Of course, it’s identification, so the local government would know who the members of the community are,” Secretary to the Mayor Fernan Tadeo said.
Once the said ordinance gets approved, it can also be used for the purchase or properties or vehicles which require identification.
More importantly, residents can get various benefits with the Bustosenyo Card that would be provided by the local government, village and other private sector groups or organization of Bustos.
As of date, around 27,000 residents have already applied for the Bustosenyo ID card.
According to the residents who spoke with the media, the new card is a welcome improvement. They are looking forward to the discounts and benefits they could get from the program.
