A House resolution has been filed expressing profound sympathy and sincerest condolences to the families of the five rescuers who were killed while on their way to save the lives of others in Bulacan during the devastation of super typhoon Karding.

Victims Narciso Calayag, Jerson Resurreccion, Marvy Bartolome, George Agustin, and Troy Justin Agusin were rescue personnel of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Bulacan province.

They were on their way to a rescue mission when their truck broke down. They opt to use a boat to continue with their rescue mission on the night of September 25.

While drifting through the floodwater in Barangay Camias, San Miguel, Bulacan, a wall collapsed hitting the rescuers.

“Whereas, the heroism and bravery showed by the five PDRRMO rescue personnel in the performance of their duty is an admirable act worthy of praise and commendation,” said Bulacan Rep. Salvador Pleyto in House Resolution 404.
