Bulacan Press Club, PIO train on human rights
Members of the Bulacan Press Club (BPC) and members of the provincial information office on Saturday joined the human rights education and training offered by the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and the National Press Club of the Philippines (NPC) at the Hiyas ng Bulakan Convention Center in Malolos City.
CHR training specialist Jezzamine Andaquig said that the objective of the training and education are to highlight the role of the members of the press in the promotion and the protection of human rights.
By providing guidance on effective human rights training programming for media professionals and journalists, the CHR is positive that the program will also create an environment where journalists are safe and protected.
The training is in line with the World Programme for Human Rights Education Phase 3 under the United Nations.
