Bulacan police nab 7 drugs suspects, reprimand 23 bystanders
Seven persons were nabbed for alleged violation of the illegal drugs law and 23 others were held for violating local ordinances in Bulacan province, the police said Tuesday.
In a statement, acting provincial police chief Sr. Supt. Chito Bersaluna identified the illegal drugs suspects as Kelvin John Recosana, 30; Juanito Acelajado, 51; Albino Magdalena, 46; Carlito Tumang, 42; Randy Tariman, 52; Jestoni Bertoldes, 27; and, Mariol Paule, 33.
Police recovered several sachets containing suspected “shabu” from the suspects, who will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Meanwhile, 23 bystanders were gathered by Bulacan police personnel during its implementation overnight of OPLAN RODY (Rid the Streets of Drunkards and Youth).
They include eight who were drinking and five smoking in prohibited places, three who were half-naked, and seven for violating other local ordinances.
All were advised to go home after being reprimanded.
OPLAN RODY seeks to minimize the number of people in the streets to help reduce crimes, including the spread of illegal drugs.
