Bulacan to honor outstanding local execs, volunteers
The provincial government of Bulacan will give recognition to village officials and volunteer workers who have made vital contribution to the province’s progress and development.
The annual Gawad Galing Barangay (GGB) awarding rites will be held on Friday at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.
The GGB is a local program equivalent to the Galing Pook Award that recognizes outstanding local officials, volunteer workers and groups and excellent, creative and effective innovations and projects in the community.
“They may be the smallest unit of all government units but they are always the front-liners in the delivery of basic services to the people,” Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said of the barangay.
This year, the provincial government of Bulacan will recognize five Natatanging Gawaing Barangay wherein the winners will each take home PHP200,000 and a plaque of recognition. Three trailblazers, on the other hand, will receive PHP50,000 and a plaque of appreciation each.
Awards will also be given to the Natatanging Lingkod Barangay, including the Natatanging Punong Barangay, who will receive PHP50,000; Natatanging Kagawad; Natatanging Ingat-Yaman; and Natatanging Kalihim, all of whom will receive a plaque of recognition and PHP20,000 each.
Moreover, the winners for the outstanding volunteer workers comprising the Natatanging Barangay Tanod; Natatanging Barangay Training and Employment Coordinator; Natatanging Lingkod Lingap sa Nayon; Natatanging Mother Leader; and Natatanging Barangay Health Worker will also receive a plaque of recognition and a cash incentive worth PHP20,000 each, while the Natatanging Volunteer Group will take home PHP50,000.
