Bulacan Gov Sy-Alvarado leads Christmas tree lighting
Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado led the lighting last Friday of the 55.5-feet Christmas tree in the province’s capital, signaling the colorful celebration by the province of the Christmas season.
The politiko’s switching on of the singkaban-adorned tree, held at the park in front of the Capitol Building in Malolos City, was accompanied by the melodic voices of the Barasoain Camerata Chorale members, the provincial government said.
The event was dubbed, “Christmasaya sa Kapitolyo 2018, Pag-iilaw ng Krismas Tree at Fireworks Display.”
Complementing the intricately sculpted bamboo feature and sparkling lights of the Christmas tree are artificial grass materials and the “Belen.”
According to an earlier statement of the provincial government, Bulakenyos will be treated to musical performances by several artists in the coming days leading up to Christmas at the Tanghalan ng Sining at Kultura in the Capitol’s Mini Forest Building.
They include Jhon Harry Rodriguez, Band 8, BPC Chorale, San Pedro High School Dance Troupe, Himig ng Bulakenyo, Marcelo Brass Band, Koro del Pilar, The Wallblossoms, Davo Project, Dakila Jass Band, and Lunarlights, among others.
Sy-Alvarado also disclosed that there will also be several products for sale at the Mini Forest Building.
“Tunay na dama na po natin ang simoy ng Kapaskuhan… At kung kayo’y wala pang nabibiling regalo, mayroon po tayong mabibilhan sa tapat ng Gusaling Gat Blas Ople,” Sy-Alvarado said in a statement.(END)
