The provincial government of Bulacan commemorated the 124th anniversary of the First Philippine Republic during simple rites at the historic grounds of Barasoain Church on Monday, January 23.
This year’s anniversary explored the themed “Unang Republikang Pilipino: Gabay Tungo sa Napapanahong Pagbabago”,during the activity held in Malolos City.
Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando and Vice Governor Alexis Castro led the event, accompanied by Bulacan Rep. Danilo Domingo as the honorary guest in the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies.
In a statement, Fernando cited the importance of patriotism and respect for the province, where the First Philippine Republic was established.
