Bataan vice gov pushing for waste segregation
Bataan Vice Gov. Cris Garcia wants her constituents to practice proper waste disposal.
Speaking before a regular session in Balanga City last Monday, Garcia urged the public to implement waste segregation, as the local government deliberates on the concurrence of a resolution of a town to enter into a contract with a waste management company based in Clark.
According to the provincial government, the Clark-based company “does not require waste segregation but charges higher fee compared to a waste company offering the same services operating in Hermosa.”
“We have a nearer company here in the province that offers the same services for lower fee but requires waste segregation,” said Garcia.
The vice governor cites the city of Balanga as one of the pioneers of waste segregation in the province.
“We should teach our constituents to segregate wastes. Balanga City is already doing it, and other towns in Bataan,” she said.
