Bataan town all set for 3-day vaccination drive
The Rural Health Unit of Samal town in Bataan province expressed readiness on Friday for the three-day national vaccination drive from November 29 to December 1.
Officials said 14 vaccination sites have been set up in all 14 barangays.
In a Philippine News Agency report, rural health physician Ryan Suguitan said his office set up inoculation sites in the barangays during the three-day “Bayanihan Bakunahan” of the Department of Health (DOH) for easy access of villagers and more people to avail of the vaccines.
He said walk-ins are allowed but unvaccinated residents are urged to register first.
Suguitan said the 14 vaccination sites would attend to priority groups A1 to A3, especially senior citizens and those with comorbidities.
The projected population of Samal to be vaccinated is 39,420.
To achieve herd immunity, 70 percent of this number or 27,594 have to be inoculated.
Records show that 65.96 percent of the town’s population have already received the first vaccine shot or a total of 21,678 individuals, while 18,202 were given complete doses.
