Bataan, Pampanga governors promote peace in labor groups
Two Central Luzon provincial governors have become champions of a healthy business environment in their respective provinces.
Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia, regional peace and order council chairperson and Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda also urged stakeholders to resolve issues concerning labor management.
This includes ensuring that the rights and welfare of workers and investors are protected in the Special Economic Zones located in Bataan and Pampanga.
Garcia and Pineda also endorsed the implementation of a national government program which aims to attract other labor sectors, such as militants, and to protect the investors and companies in Central Luzon.
During the regional peace and order council meeting for the first quarter, Garcia said it is also important to have an integrated plan to thwart any effort of radical groups to penetrate the ranks of legitimate labor organizations in the export processing zones in Central Luzon.
“I urge members of the Council to collaborate with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police (PNP) to continue supporting their campaigns,” Garcia said during the 1st Quarter RPOC meeting.
He added that maintaining the peace and order in Central Luzon will lead to further development of the economic zones and upsurge of business investments, both from local and foreign firms.
