Bataan Governor Abet Garcia stresses the need for a prepared disaster response
Typhoon Rolly once again showed different municipalities and cities the need to be prepared for any calamity.
Even before it hit, Bataan Governor Abet Garcia laid out his plans for the province of Bataan to the National Resilience Council (NRC) Colloquium with the theme, ‘Pathways and Milestones in Building Local Resilience.’ He mentioned the need to allot a sufficient budget beforehand, policy implementation, and the unity of different sectors and agencies in order to be strong against any disaster.
Bataan was the only province that was able to finish the ‘PREPARE’ Scorecard and is already starting the ADAPT Phase process to help every Bataeno.
In the colloquium, the governor was joined by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Head Josefina Timoteo, mayors, and other officials of the Resilience Council from Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Iriga, Muntinlupa, Naga, Ormoc, and Zamboanga.
