Bataan gov pushes for cacao expansion
Bataan province may soon witness an anticipated expansion of its cacao production.
Governor Albert S. Garcia is set to enter into an agreement with the Department of Agriculture for a high-value crop production expansion project in upland villages in the province.
According to 1Bataan, the resolution involves funding the project with a total appropriation of P1,875,000, P1.5 million of which will come from the DA while the provincial government will provide P375,000 to be distributed to qualified cacao farmers organizations as beneficiaries.
The project also involves distributing Cacao seedlings for 15 upland farmers covering 50 hectares of land in the towns of Orani, Abucay and Orion and component City of Balanga.
