Bataan Gov Garcia reveals up to P1-B aid to Orion fire victims
Bataan Governor Albert Garcia has bared that up to P1 billion in aid has been committed by the National Housing Authority and the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board to the fire victims in Orion town.
According to a post on Garcia’s Facebook page on Tuesday, the politiko revealed the information during last Friday’s kick-off ceremony of the region-wide Fire Prevention Month at the Bataan People’s Center in Balanga City.
A massive fire hit a fishing village in Orion’s Barangay Capunitan in late January, affecting more than 700 houses, and displacing around 800 families.
Garcia’s Facebook post said that the relocation of the fire victims is being prioritized, ensuring that all support services such as school, daycare, training centers, parks and livelihood training, among others, are available there.
The Region 3 celebration of the Fire Prevention Month carries the theme, “Ligtas na Pilipinas Ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kalaaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin.”
