Bataan Congresswoman Geraldine Roman pushes for a better agrarian reform program
“I believe in systemic changes.” This is Bataan first district representative Geraldine Roman’s recent powerful statement.
The congresswoman believes that it is already high time to help farmers progress and live better lives. The system must be changed. The farmers must own the lands they till. They must be given support services like capitalization, housing, education, health and medical coverage, and financial literacy programs.
This is why Congresswoman Roman is pushing for House Bill 5507 or New and Improved Agrarian Reform Program. The bill aims to provide solutions such as giving monthly amortization, providing just compensation for former landowners, and making support services more comprehensive.
