Bataan Cong Roman shares fire safety tips
Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman shared Monday a number of fire prevention and safety tips as the country marks Fire Prevention Month this March.
On her Facebook page, Roman enumerated 17 “very helpful FIRE PREVENTION tips” for residences, offices, and industrial and commercial buildings, and five things to do in case of fire.
The pieces of advice include not smoking inside establishments, avoiding unsafe electrical connections, not using imitation and fake appliances and gadgets, having a fire extinguisher and knowing the numbers to call, and conducting regular fire drills, among others.
In case of fire, she urged to immediately report the incident, help diffuse the fire if possible, and leave the establishment soonest.
“Sabi nga ng kasabihan, ‘Mas mabuti pang manakawan, huwag lang masunugan’,” said Roman, who heads the House of Representatives Committee on Disaster Management.
“Sa sunog, hindi lang maaaring maubos ang iyong kagamitan at mawala lahat ng iyong pinag-ipunan. Sa sunog, maaaring mabawian ka at ang iyong pamilya ng buhay, o kaya’y magkaroon ng habangbuhay na kapansanan,” she added.(END)
