Bataan Cong Roman salutes determined Samar pupil
Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman expressed Tuesday her great admiration for a young schoolboy in Samar province who went viral on social media for his dedication in his studies despite poverty.
“Saludo kami sa batang masipag,” Roman wrote on her Facebook page, as she shared an article about the boy from Santa Rita, Samar who was photographed by his teacher using an improvised pen.
Roman pointed out the irony when it comes to some children from well-off families. She said many of them need to be forced to go to school, while others, despite having complete supplies, are too lazy to attend classes.
The boy, identified as Jan Kim, 8, deserves the emulation of everybody, including adults, Roman said, because he embodies the determination to succeed in life through education.
