Baliwag launches ‘Bayanihan sa Bakuran’ to combat dengue
Aside from COVID-19, dengue is also a health threat this season.
Because of this, Baliwag LGU, under the leadership of Mayor Ferdie Estrella, relaunched Bayanihan sa Bakuran. The program was extended to encourage more Baliwagenyos to start their own urban gardens and to teach them more about proper solid waste segregation. The program will start on June 26 and must be done everyday at 4 p.m. Basically, every 4 in the afternoon, mass clean-up and urban gardening will be done by every household in 27 barangays. An officer from the Barangay Solid Waste Management Council (BSWMC) will do rounds and monitor the cleaning.
At the end of the week, the barangay will choose one participating household for a special prize.
