Balanga poll officer urges voter registrants to wear mask, observe distancing
Balanga City election officer Melanio Sibayan reminded those lining up at the Commission on Elections to get registered for the 2022 elections to observe health and safety protocols such as wearing face masks and physical distancing.
“Nagpapasalamat kami na marami ang pumupunta dito at meron na silang form na dala-dala na kinukuha nila sa Comelec website,” he said in a Punto Central Luzon report.
“Sana lahat ng mga botante ganoon ang gawin para ma-lessen ang oras at mapabilis ang registration,” Sibayan was quoted as saying.
The report said crowds were observed at the Comelec offices as early as 7 a.m.
Sibayan said the influx of registrants has been noticeable since September 6 when the Comelec offices resumed accepting applicants for registration after being closed for a few months due to quarantine restrictions.
There are less than two weeks left for voters to get registered before the deadline on September 30.
Comelec offices are open from Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
