The “Ayta Na Market” is now open at the Clark Freeport, featuring indigenous products and crafts.

The project, located on C.M. Recto Avenue, M.A. Roxas Highway, was a collaboration of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Clark Development Corporation and partner Aeta communities.

Present at the launch were Agriculture Undersecretary for Consumer and Political Affairs Kristine Evangelista along with Regional Technical Director Eduardo Lapuz, Jr. and DA-Regional Field Office-Central Luzon-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division Chief Fernando Lorenzo.

During the event, certificates and financial grants were presented to select farmers and local government units.

The project is aimed at helping indigenous farmers find buyers for their products and wares.

During the event, CDC president and CEO Manuel Gaerlan said the market would help in boosting local tourism.

“This will hopefully become a tourist attraction dito sa Clark. So maaaring may nawala sa amin in terms of revenue dito sa lease na hindi namin masisingil sa kanila,” he said.

“Pero ito naman ay magiging attraction sa ating mga turista kaya babalik pa rin dahil mas maraming turista na ang pupunta sa Clark at pupunta dito,” Gaerlan said.
