Army goes house-to-house to distribute rice to almost 1K families in Dinalupihan
The 48th Infantry Battalion (48IB) of the Philippine Army distributed sacks of rice, each weighing 25 kilos, to residents of Barangay Pita in Dinalupihan town, Bataan province on Tuesday as part of assistance efforts for families struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement, 703rd Brigade Commander Col. Andrew Costelo said 932 families received the rice as aid during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period.
Personnel of the 48IB delivered each sack house-to-house in coordination with the help of municipal and barangay officials.
Costelo extended his gratitude to the municipal government of Dinalupihan for their assistance and asked residents to abide by rules in their area.
“The efforts of our different local government units are superb in order to satisfy needs of the deprived especially that we are in the middle of ECQ,” he said.
“With this, we ask the public to just stay home and strictly follow ECQ protocols,” Costelo said.
