Arayat requires travellers from QC to present negative Covid test

The municipality of Arayat, Pampanga is now requiring travellers from Quezon City to present a medical certificate and a negative Covid-19 test to enter the town as a precaution against the new UK variant of the virus..
Arayat Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino said the new travel restrictions were imposed to prevent the spread of the UK strain of Covid-19, according to a GMA News report.
The Department of Health (DOH) announced last week that the new coronavirus variant initially discovered in the UK was detected in a male Quezon City resident who arrived back from Dubai on January 7.
Alejandrino said travelers from Metro Manila “will be allowed inside Arayat as long as they do not get out of their vehicles,” the GMA News report said.
The report said Arayat officials earmarked P12 million for Covid-19 vaccines for its residents.
