Angeles merchants launch ‘labor of love’ project
Local merchants of the One Town One Product store in Angeles City launched a “labor of love” live selling earning P44,020 in sales.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said the merchants agreed to set aside 15 percent of the sales to purchase livelihood kits for accessories and lanyard making, which will be given to beneficiaries of their choosing.
“Nakakataba po ng puso na sa ganitong paraan naaabutan natin ng tulong ang mga Angeleños. Maraming salamat po sa mga local merchants natin,” he said in a press release.
“Despite the ongoing health crisis we are facing, good deeds are still everywhere and it is like a domino effect,” Lazatin added.
According to Irish Bonus-Llego, Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (ACEDIPO) head, the beneficiaries for the livelihood program will also be trained under the supervision of ACEDIPO, which also manages the OTOP store.
“The finished products will then be displayed for selling in our OTOP shop,” she said.
