Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has allotted P4 million for the P1,000 financial assistance and three-month supply of Vitamin C supplements of 4,000 physically-disabled city residents.
This was revealed by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who said that the distribution will begin in March.
According to Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office Head Alma Vital, this is not the first time that Lazatin had allotted funds for financial assistance for the sector.
Aside from the regular cash assistance and Vitamin C supplements, Lazatin has been promoting PWD-friendly premises in the City Hall by putting up necessary structures like an elevator and ramps.
Lazatin also instructed the City Engineering Office and the Business Permit and Licensing Division to conduct an inspection on the accessibility of establishments for PWDs.
