Angeles Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr pledges P200,000 for Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz
Aside from the millions that Hidilyn Diaz would be receiving from the national government and private entities, Angeles City also pledged to add to the winner’s pool.
They would be giving the Philippines’ first Olympic medalist a cash reward of P200,000.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr said that not only is Diaz a resident of Angeles City, she also trained in one of the crossfit gyms in the area.
Before the Olympics, the athlete was a regular in the city. Mayor Lazatin even has lots of photos together with the world-class weightlifter.
He’s really proud and happy of Hidilyn’s victory that brought pride to the country.
