Angeles distributes vegetable seedlings to community pantries
Embracing the bayanihan spirit, the local government of Angeles City has distributed vegetable seedlings to various community pantries operating in the city.
Officials said tomato and eggplant seedlings were distributed to the JK Community Pantry in front of Tollhouse; two community pantries in Barangay Sto. Rosario (near Landbank and near Holy Rosary Parish Church); Barangay Pulung Cacutud; Barangay Lourdes Sur; near Astro Park in Barangay Balibago; Barangay Claro M. Recto; Nepo Community Pantry; Barangay Sta. Teresita; and in Abacan Barangay Malabanias.
“In these trying times when there are more people in need, it is heartwarming that there are still more people who want to help their fellows,” Angeles Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said in a press release.
“I join you in the goal of strengthening the ‘bayanihan spirit’ in our city,” he added.
Earlier, the mayor donated his two-month salary to purchase canned goods and sacks of rice for the community pantries.
